Beautiful gardens with lots of variety. Plenty to see even during fall. Lots of educational opportunities for little kids. Gift shop has a great variety of books, educational toys, and gifts for the holidays. All the staff there were very friendly and super passionate about the Gardens. We just missed their winter holiday lights display but based on the amount of lights they were putting up it will be gorgeous.

What an amazing place. All of the volunteers were so knowledgeable and so friendly. Even just the visitors were kind. The gift shop was fabulous and I picked up a few things for friends and family. I didn’t get a chance to see the Holiday lights at night. But it was even more beautiful in the day. Everything is labeled so perfectly when you walk through. That only do you learn but you get a little bit of a hands-on experience with everything. Words cannot express what a fabulous time I had. Thank you guys so much for all of your hospitality and I can’t wait to come back and visit again.

I’m not sure what all the negative reviews are about. This establishment is FREE and beautiful yet people still complain. Anyway, my kiddo and I had a great time today. The gardens are being prepped and it’s still winter so obviously not much was happening there but I cannot wait to come back when everything is in bloom 🌻🌸🌺 Parking was plenty, I’m sure the weekends might be a bit crazy. Although it’s free and free parking, donation is welcome and there’s a small box for it near the entrance. Great place for photos! The kids playground was awesome as well. The bathrooms were clean. Next time we’ll bring a picnic! There is a cafe but we didn’t go inside at all.

This zoo is great. It is small as some reviewers say but they should keep in mind it is a free zoo for rehabbed animals. We saw owls, bears, turkeys, river otters, a bald eagle, a gator and more. My 7 year old didn’t want to leave. We all had a great time and will be back.

It’s a cool place for little kids. Nice because it’s free. Having said that, there are only a few animals there and it’s hit or miss if they are out. So if you have toddlers, I’d say visit but expect to be done in less than an hour.

Love Sandy Creek! Staff still does what they can to provide a safe visit and are excited to share their knowledge of science and nature. The trails are beautiful. Some areas on trails are unexpectedly challenging if you have mobility issues. However there is a very wide multi-use path that is paved and attaches to the Greenway system, giving most a long stable path to walk or ride.

It was so awesome. They didn’t charge so buying in their store part helps to keep it open. I so enjoyed the visit and look forward to returning again. I have photos in other phone will post later. The Turtle really liked his pic taken.

A few months ago, I was biking on their trail. It was very nice out. I loaded up my bike after finishing my ride and headed home. I didn’t know I had dropped my Watch. I took it off after I finished my ride. A few days later I get a call from my brother that someone had found my watch and he was my emergency contact on the watch so they called him. They answered the phone after hours to coordinate a time for me to pick up my watch. When I walked in the next day a kind woman in the front handed me my watch. I thanked her, and am still extremely grateful for their efforts to return my watch. Thanks, and the area is gorgeous too.

Really nice park to visit pretty much anytime of year. They have a great walking or running track and also it’s pet friendly. During the summer time they have a really nice pool with diving boards and of course a great playground. They also have full court basketball and really nice tennis courts. You really couldn’t ask for too much more. The bathrooms are always clean and the park is always well taken care of. Highly recommend visiting and taking your kids or just enjoying yourself and relaxing at this park.

Great all around place. Not a large park, but has swimming, walking, biking , tennis and other options. Pool has not been open for several seasons and the park seems underutilized during the week. Across from the YMCA and near several transit lines.

Beautiful location to visit and view featured artists. We were there to view and honor Lloyd Florence with family and friends. We enjoyed the historic house too. I highly recommend visiting it and taking time to read the displayed informational plaques explaining the house and some of it’s interworking. You will appreciate the history.

The pictures on the reviews are inaccurate. There are not dinosaur replicas, bones or fossils as pictured. It’s actually a really small place, just one small room, with display cases. Nicely organized collection of items. Free.

The best part of this museum is the nature walk path in the rear of the building. The nature walk is so peaceful, relaxing and refreshing. Out of everything I saw in the museum, the nature walk was by far the best scenic adventure of this museum.

Good place to stand up and speak out for the rights of the unborn! Lots of Leftist/”progressive” types come through there who tend to use their middle fingers and emotions rather than logic and reason to engage worldviews with which they disagree. That’s most unfortunate. However, this is a good venue at which to seek a return to the classic liberal concept of a free and public exchange of ideas.

She can’t wait for the playground to open up again. But still plenty of activities at this versatile park in south central Athens. Plus a quiet dog park tucked away as well.
