Northeast Georgia History Center

The Northeast Georgia History Center in Gainesville, GA is a museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Northeast Georgia. Our exhibits are all about NEGA’s past- from its rolling hills, river valleys and unknown Native American villages to its agricultural roots, industrialization and railroads.  

The Northeast Georgia History Center has exhibits and ancient structures that span 10,000 years of the area’s history. You’ll visit an 18th century cabin once home to Cherokee tribal leader White Path, learn little-known stories of the region’s past, and get up close to hundreds of artifacts during your trip.

The Northeast Georgia History Center is a great place to visit if you want to learn more about the history of the region. The museum has exhibits that cover everything from the area’s Native American history to its agricultural roots and industrialization. Plus, the staff at the History Center are always happy to answer questions and provide more information about Northeast Georgia’s past.

Wednesday-Saturday 10am–5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm

Admission

Members are always free. 

$6 for Adults

$5 Active & Retired military

$5 for Seniors (65 and over)

$4 for students including college students with an ID

Free for Children 5 and under.
